General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTCS)

Accommodation Booking – Saumur Quai Mayaud Location

Article 1 – Purpose

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTCS) govern accommodation bookings made directly with Saumur Quai Mayaud Location, a French single-member limited liability company (EURL), registered under SIRET number 920 356 847 00011, whose registered office is located at 8 Quai Mayaud, 49400 Saumur, France.

Any booking implies full and unconditional acceptance of these GTCS and of the property's House Rules.

Article 2 – Accommodation

Saumur Quai Mayaud Location offers fully furnished tourist apartments located in Saumur, France, for both leisure and business travellers.

The photographs, descriptions and amenities presented on the website are provided with the utmost care. However, they are for information purposes only and are not contractually binding. They may be modified at any time.

Article 3 – Booking

A booking becomes final once all of the following conditions have been met:

  • payment in full or payment of the required deposit;

  • acceptance of these General Terms and Conditions;

  • submission of the information necessary to organise the stay.

The Owner reserves the right to refuse any incomplete or non-compliant booking.

Article 4 – Prices

All prices are expressed in euros (€).

They include the services specified at the time of booking.

Tourist tax is charged in accordance with applicable regulations whenever it is not already included in the advertised price.

The company benefits from the French VAT exemption scheme pursuant to Article 293 B of the French General Tax Code. VAT is not applicable.

Article 5 – Payment Terms

Payments may be made using:

  • Stripe;

  • PayPal;

  • any other payment method offered during the booking process.

A reservation is guaranteed only after payment has been successfully validated.

Article 6 – Tourist Tax

If tourist tax has not been collected at the time of booking, it must be paid no later than seven (7) days before arrival.

Failure to pay may result in the Owner withholding the arrival instructions or refusing access to the accommodation until payment has been received.

Article 7 – Identity Verification

To ensure the security of the accommodation and comply with French legal requirements, the lead guest may be requested to provide:

  • a valid government-issued identity document;

  • the Traveller Registration Form (for French nationals);

  • the Individual Police Registration Form (for foreign nationals), in accordance with French regulations.

Failure to provide these documents may result in cancellation of the reservation without compensation, subject to applicable legal provisions.

Article 8 – Security Deposit

A security deposit may be required before arrival.

The deposit is secured by means of a pre-authorisation on a bank card through a specialised payment provider.

No amount is charged unless necessary to cover damage, loss, excessive cleaning, breach of these Terms and Conditions, or justified restoration costs.

The amount of the security deposit is specified during the booking process.

Article 9 – Check-in

Check-in arrangements are organised with the guest during the week preceding arrival.

The guest agrees to respect the agreed arrival time.

Before arrival, the guest must have:

  • paid the accommodation charges;

  • paid the tourist tax where applicable;

  • submitted all requested documents;

  • completed the security deposit procedure, where applicable.

Article 10 – Check-out

The accommodation must be vacated between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., according to the instructions provided for the booked property.

Keys must be returned in accordance with the instructions given.

Article 11 – Occupancy

The accommodation is reserved exclusively for the persons declared at the time of booking.

The maximum occupancy stated in the listing must not be exceeded without the Owner's prior written approval.

Undeclared guests may result in refusal of access or additional charges.

Article 12 – Use of the Accommodation

Guests agree in particular to:

  • use the accommodation peacefully;

  • respect neighbours;

  • keep the property in good condition;

  • comply with the House Rules.

In particular, the following are prohibited:

  • smoking inside the accommodation;

  • organising parties or unauthorised gatherings;

  • bringing pets without the Owner's prior written consent.

Article 13 – Inventory and Damage

Guests are responsible for any damage caused during their stay.

Any breakage, loss, deterioration or disappearance of equipment may be charged at the replacement or repair cost.

Where exceptional cleaning is required, additional cleaning charges may apply.

Article 14 – Cancellation

Any cancellation must be made in writing.

Guests are entitled to a full refund of the accommodation charges when cancellation is received at least eight (8) full days before the scheduled arrival date.

For cancellations made less than eight (8) days before arrival, accommodation charges remain payable to the Owner unless an exceptional agreement is reached.

Cleaning fees are fully refunded if the reservation is cancelled or in the event of a no-show.

Any modification to a booking remains subject to availability.

Article 15 – Refusal of Access

The Owner may refuse access to the accommodation in particular in the event of:

  • non-payment;

  • failure to pay the tourist tax;

  • failure to provide mandatory documents;

  • inability to verify the guest's identity;

  • exceeding the authorised number of occupants;

  • behaviour endangering persons or property.

Unless otherwise required by law, no refund shall be due in these circumstances.

Article 16 – Liability

The Owner shall not be held liable for the loss, theft or damage of guests' personal belongings.

Guests remain fully responsible for any damage caused by themselves or by persons accompanying them.

Article 17 – Personal Data Protection

Personal data is collected solely for:

  • booking management;

  • compliance with legal obligations;

  • invoicing;

  • accommodation security.

Personal data is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Guests have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, object to the processing of, and request portability of their personal data.

Article 18 – Consumer Mediation

In accordance with Articles L.612-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, consumers are entitled to use a consumer mediation service free of charge in order to seek an amicable resolution of any dispute.

The contact details of the competent consumer mediator will be provided upon request or as soon as the mediator has been appointed by the company.

Article 19 – Governing Law

These General Terms and Conditions are governed by French law.

In the event of a dispute, the parties shall first seek an amicable settlement before initiating legal proceedings.

Failing such settlement, French courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protection provisions.

Article 20 – Prohibition of Illegal Activities

The accommodation is intended exclusively for temporary residential use in connection with tourism or business travel.

It is strictly prohibited to use the accommodation for any activity contrary to applicable laws and regulations, including, but not limited to:

  • prostitution or any form of procuring;

  • trafficking, use, manufacture or storage of illegal drugs or controlled substances;

  • money laundering or any fraudulent activity;

  • handling or concealing stolen goods;

  • storing weapons, hazardous materials or illegal goods;

  • any activity likely to endanger public order, personal safety or the peaceful enjoyment of the neighbourhood.

In the event of a serious suspicion or confirmed evidence of illegal activity, the Owner reserves the right to terminate the stay immediately and to refuse or withdraw access to the accommodation without refund, subject to applicable legal provisions.

The Owner may also report the matter to the competent authorities and initiate any civil or criminal proceedings deemed necessary to protect its rights and the rights of third parties.
